Sarah was introduced to yoga at school in England. Soon after, she began a more serious study of Iyengar yoga laying the foundation for her own practice and teaching. Her teaching style also draws from her experience with Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Anusara, Sivananda, Yin and Restorative yoga. She moved with her husband and two boys to Singapore in 2012 and is available for studio and private classes in and around the Bukit Timah area.
Sarah has learned from many wonderful teachers around the world including Noah Maze, Jason Crandell, Leela Millar, Sarah Powers, Christina Sell, Judith Hanson Lasater and Desiree Rumbaugh. Sarah did her first teacher training with The British School of Yoga and recently completed another 200 hour teacher training with Noah Maze. She has also completed extensive further teacher trainings with Sarah Powers in Yin/ Yang and Insight Yoga/ meditation as well as with Judith Lasater in Restorative Yoga. Always learning more, she continues to be guided by Noah Maze and Christina Sell
A former English teacher, serious tennis player and coach, Sarah understands the strains and stresses modern life places on our bodies. Having had multiple back injuries and existing chronic problems, Sarah has become particularly knowledgeable on how to safely keep the back strong and flexible with yoga. Her classes have proved invaluable for people with existing back problems as well as preventing them occuring in others. Sarah’s teaching style is fun and nurturing and every student is encouraged to practice within his or her present ability, progressing steadily and safely. She is known for sequencing poses in class logically and creatively to gradually and safely open and strengthen students bodies and minds.
Sarah is also a Thai Yoga massage therapist at advanced level having trained with Jesus Duran from the Ong Massage School in Chiang Mai.
Sarah has lived and worked in the UK, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Granada, Spain. She is available to teach in English and Spanish. Sarah is registered with Yoga Alliance US (RYT 200) and The Independent Yoga Register and is currently studying with Noah Maze leading up to her 500 RYT hour certification.
