“Yoga in Nature – beyond my wildest expectations…” 2016 attendee
Retreat to the glorious Dorset countryside to spend a quiet weekend of yoga, contemplation and natural health.
Drawing inspiration from the land around us and a desire to work with natural principles rather than overriding them, during this weekend we will all share an approach to health and well-being which can help balance our physical, emotional, mental and inspirational energy. Flowing Hatha Yoga sessions will take place outdoors (weather permitting!) bringing strength to the body and calm to the mind; guided time in nature will invite you to move closer to your surroundings and treat yourself in a more nurturing way; while inspiring farm and countryside walks will encourage you to take a more organic, seasonal and nourishing approach to your food, your medicine and your life! The delicious organic food you will eat during your stay will complement the weekend’s activities and free time on the farm will allow you to reflect in peaceful surroundings. We hope you’ll leave feeling relaxed, restored, resilient and replenished!

Weekend Details:
This weekend is suitable for beginners and more experienced participants alike.
Leaders:
Jasmine Pradhan – Jasmine teaches Hatha yoga (sometimes dynamic, sometimes slower) with an open heart and an open mind. A combination of attention to alignment for safety, and tailor made class plans to bring the postures to life, Jasmine’s yoga classes aim to build gentle heat, strength and flexibility in the body, whilst simultaneously bringing a sense of deep release and calm to the mind – a perfect blend of physical exertion and more contemplative, introspective exploration. For more information please see www.stretchandthecity.co.uk
Tom Mettyear – Tom farms the 30 acres of organic land at Haddon Copse Farm and is passionate about the organic food the farm produces. For many years Tom has also worked for Neal’s Yard Remedies and has extensive knowledge of medicinal and native plants. He has a deep belief that by connecting to our food and our medicine we can create a healthier self and a healthier planet.
Mark Sparrow – as well as farming at Haddon Copse Farm with Tom, Mark is also a counsellor with a particular interest in nature-based practice & eco-psychology. Through a growing mindfulness-based practice Mark believes that connecting with the natural world is an integral part of our health and well-being.
Travel
By car – we are on the road between Sturminster Newton & Hazelbury Bryan – our postcode is DT10 2AQ
By train – the nearest train station is Sherborne. We can collect you from the station on Friday and take you back on Sunday by arrangement.
Accommodation
This is a camping weekend: you can bring your own tent or hire one of our lovely bell-tents which provide comfortable mattresses – you will still need to bring your own sleeping bag/bedding. Our bell-tents are based on two people sharing – single occupancy may be available for a supplement. There are two lovely shower rooms in the orchard next to the camping field.
Food
All food will be vegetarian, seasonal, local and organic. We’re sorry but because of the limited kitchen facilities we cannot offer a gluten-free option.
