Mum & Baby Yoga

Baby yoga classes are a joy! They offer a lively mix and variety of yoga inspired practices that allow Mums (as well as Dads, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles who have also attended) to have fun together with their babies and recover from the birth, promoting the health and well-being of the whole family. Classes comprise of passive stretches and rhythmical movements – often accompanied by songs or rhymes – to develop the babies’ sensory and motor skills, their ability to concentrate, to learn and have fun. Many of the yoga practices help to ease the baby through any potential problems they may have in their early days, such as colic, sleeping difficulties and teething pains. It also uses integrated movements for the Mums and babies’ to do together, with a variety of gentle, yet effective post-natal exercises, so that it supports the post-natal recovery from the rigours of pregnancy and childbirth. It gives chance for them to interact together and with one another in the class, to lend support and friendship to each other, and perhaps most importantly, to have a vital chance to relax together.
